OPI Mariah Carey Liquid Sand Mini Pack

Few days ago I got a cute package from a Slovenian online store. They surprised me with a mini pack of OPI Mariah Carey's liquid sand collection. I'm seeing this trend everywhere at the moment and I couldn't wait to test them out. Since I got a mini pack and didn't want to just swatch them, I decided to go with skittles. :P I added 2 coats of each and I was surprised with a gritty effect but I just love it! :L It truly looks like a sand on your nails, perfect! Which one is your fave?

V kolekciji Mariah Carey so štirje taki odtenki. Ker nimam 10 rok, kjer bi lahko preizkusila vse lake naenkrat, sem se odločila za skittlse in tako ubila 4 muhe na en mah. :P

Stay the Night - The impossible - Can't let go - Get your number

Thanks for reading!

Ivana :k

NOTW 3 ~ Gold Glitter Gradient

Jeeez, times fly by way too fast as I would want to. :( Missed me? :$

Quick manicure for today just to say hi! :)

You can't go wrong with a perfect blue like Pacific Blue from Sally Hansen is. :L Just to make it a bit more fun, I added some gold glitter and to match it a bit better, I added some blue glequins from Born Pretty Store.

Nail Tek - Foundation II
Sally Hansen - Pacific Blue / 2 coats
Sponging: Essence - Make it Golden
Blue Glequins
Essence Better than gel nails Top Sealer

Totally color inaccurate photo but I love how it looks like. :L

I got a pack of glequins from Born Pretty Store. 12 little containers with 12 different colors - I think I have a supply for life. :D The glequins I decided to add...

Hot Pink Velvet Nails

I'm so excited about this trend so I had to make a blog post right away! :) Yes, velvet/fuzzy nails or whatever you want to call it... :L :L

Last week I got a package from Born Pretty Store and I couldn't wait to try this neon pink flocking powder. The container is huge, I expected it to be smaller but at least I won't run out of it anytime soon. :D

5 easy steps you need to follow to do fuzzy nails:
1st step (optional): Apply base coat.
2nd step: Apply similar base color.
3rd step: Sprinkle flocking powder on your nail when the polish is still wet.
4th step: Dab the powder gently with your finger.
5st step: Sweep away the excess with a brz.
D-o-n-e!! :i

I got tweezers, flocking powder in the the shade Hot Pink and that little brush, which I don't recommend, because it sheds like crazy. Use a fluffy brush you don't need, or those fan brushes you get in a nail art brush set. :) I used this brush but all the bristles ended in the flocking powder so I couldn't put it back to use it later. I really don't want them on my nails next time. xD

I wish you could touch them!! :D So funny!

Nail Tek Foundation II
Neon Pink Flocking Powder

FYI: This powder is neon pink and not so orange as it shows on my pictures. :)

It's So Fluffy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xD

Cute phone cases, studs and glitter from BPS

So I have been so uninspired lately and I'm not really wearing anything special on my nails. I got some goodies from Born Pretty Store for review and this will probably be the lamest review but here we go. :i

There was a misunderstanding and I got wrong phone cases I wanted to try out. I got 2 cute Iphone 4/4s cases which obviously don't fit on my Samsung Galaxy S3. I was a bit sad because I was excited about these but okay I'm getting the right ones next time and I already found a new home for them, just need to ship them out.

I really like the bow case because it's so cute and I loove cute stuff! :i Dots looks cute too and both phone cases feel really sturdy.

Then I got some studs. Studs are really everywhere so if you want to be in trend, be sure you check their studs. I got rounded gold studs, maybe a bit too big for my taste but what I really love about them that they are pretty flat and I love flat stuff for nails. Here I took a picture of the neon pink ones I already showed you here so you can see that these are bigger.

I was lacking of inspiration so I just made an accent nail with them...Pretty boring I know! :D
Gradient: Essence - Very Berry & Essence - Meet me now

Last but not least I got the loose deltoid shaped glitter in iridescent pink which I used on my Halloween manicure. It looks pink in the pot but over black became orange to green but I'll have to use it over different colors. I applied a coat of black polish and put my nail into the pot so the glitter has stuck on my nail. Applied a layer of top coat to get a smooth surface and that's it!

Close up, full mani here.

I'm sorry for this really bad review. :$ I know you can't really help yourself but I would recommend the studs and the cases, not really a fan of this deltoid shaped glitter, because it's pretty small so you can't really place them on one by one, I'm just too lazy for that. :-D I'm more a hexagonal glitter fan in every possible color, yes please!!!!

Don't forget to use code J10X31 to get 10% off on your order. ;)

Oh and thanks for all the votes for my Halloween manicure I posted in my last post. I didn't make it to the top 13 but I was happy to at least try! :D Now please help me bring my inspiration back and tell me what would you love to see here. :)

Ivana :k

Video Tutorial: Hot Pink Studded Nails

I got these hot pink studs from Born Pretty Store and I wanted to combine them with black but all blacks I have were too thick to use. After searching and trying to come up with another color combination, I stumbled upon a black I bought years ago and it still looked usable.

Hot neon pink and black is probably my fave color combination so I was so happy when I managed to do my nails in that combo. :e

Here's what I came up with...
Nail Tek - Foundation 2
Manhattan - 1010N / 1 coat
Hot Pink Studs
Beauty Secrets TC Fast Finish Polish Dryer

I'm so in love with this manicure! :L First I wanted silver and gold studs but when I saw these, I knew I had to try them out. You can find them here on BPS. :e

These studs are round and big as rhinestones so the surface is really bumpy, which can be annoying and I have to hold back to not pull them off but when I look at my nails I think it's worth it. :D

I decided to film myself doing this manicure so I hope you'll like it. :e

I'm wearing this manicure for 2 days and some of the studs are missing but I could wear it for another day or two. They start falling off eventually but I think they still look pretty. :)

I just want to share a word or two about cuticle cutter I got from BPS. They're really sharp and you can use them for many reasons. Just don't use them for cuticles! I usually cut those hang nails if I got them or like I did in Funky French Video, I used them for cutting the tape. :)

There are more versions of cuticle cutters on BPS, but even the cheapest works great! :)

Don't forget to use code J10X31 to get 10% off on your order if you're planning to order on Born Pretty Store . ;)

Thanks for reading! Let me know what do you think about this manicure! Can you stand the bumpy surface when wearing studs or rhinestones? ^_^ Is there a tutorial you would like to see?

Ivana :k

Neon Pink Houndstooth Nails

Let's continue with the goodies I got from Born Pretty Store. I already told you I'm into neons lately and I really need more of them in my life. So when they offered me to try some things from their store, I immediately knew what I want to try out this time. :D

CH Nail #14 is a part of their neon collection. I picked this one, because I wanted something bright and pink. ^_^ I didn't know what to expect but when I tried it, I fell in love with. It's highlighter neon pink. <3 I really like its brush, because it's more on a flatter side, which makes application even easier. Formula is great, you can easily get away with 2 coats. I didn't use a top coat on the picture below, so you can see it has some kind of this plastic finish.

Essence Nail Art - Protecting Base Coat
CH Nail - #14 / 2 coats

I'm really happy with this polish and I'll be definitely wearing this one through the whole summer. I have no idea if these are B3F, because the ingredients aren't listed on the bottle, but this one doesn't stink like polishes with Formaldehyde, DBP & Toluene. It's $4.99 per bottle and the bottle contains 15 ml (with a cuopon code you get a nice deal :i ).

And because I also got this Double Sided Stamper I had to try it out too. I tried this pink houndstooth dress in H&M months ago, which I really loved, but it looked horrible on me so I didn't get it. :D But I really loved that black & pink combination, so I decided to recreate it with this neon pink. :D

Essence Nail Art - Protecting Base Coat
CH Nail - #14 / 2 coats
Stamping: Wet n Wild - Black Créme & Konad m63
Beauty Secrets TC Fast Finish Polish Dryer

And I'm still wearing this manicure, because I love it so much! :L What do you think?

So I tried this double sided stamper for the first time and so far I'm loving it! It's much easier to hold it in hands and transfer the pattern from the plate to my nails. I also got the regular stamper from BPS and they're same size, the only difference is that the double stamper is smoother but it still picks the pattern perfectly as the normal one. Double stamper has a green smaller stamper for smaller patterns but I don't know if I'm ever going to use that one, because I'm really not a fan of smaller patterns. :D It comes with a metal scraper and I prefer credit cards more than metal scrapers, because they easily scratch my plates.

Don't forget to use code J10X31 to get 10% off on your order. ;)

Let me know if you already tried any of these! Do you like Houndstooth nails?

Xoxo,
Ivana :k

Framed Nails

Few days ago I got another awesome package from Born Pretty Store, so I had to try the goodies right away. :)

I'm really loving framed nails and I already did them once, you can see them here, where I used just plain black and holographic silver glitter. So now I decided to do them again but this time with gold glitter. This method is kind of time-consuming, but it definitely looks good. :)

The pictures aren't the best, because the weather here is nothing like June should be. xo

I got this cute container full of gold hexagonal holographic glitter (you can find it here, also available in different colors and shapes). It looks like a treasure when you open the container. :L To easily pick the glitter on toothpick, I drop some of the glitter into the lid.

I love this kind of glitter because it's flat and it doesn't bother me as much as rhinestones. So when you add a layer of top coat, the surface is almost smooth.

I started with 2 coats of China Glaze - Traffic Jam. I picked it because it has a really great formula and I already tried it with gold glitter and it looked gorgeous, so I decided to use it again. :L I did one nail at a time. When the second layer was still wet, I simply picked one by one glitter and placed it on the nail. If I was too slow and the surface was already dry, I added a top coat and made the surface wet and sticky again.
OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener
China Glaze - Traffic Jam / 2 coats
Gold Holographic Hexagonal Glitter
Beauty Secrets TC Fast Finish Polish Dryer

They do start falling off eventually, I'd suggest you to add 2 coats of top coat to really seal them on the nails, but even when a few of them are missing, it doesn't bothering me, it still looks as great as before. Unless you're really trying to find where they're missing. xD

Here's a closer look of the glitter! <3 I told you it looks like a treasure! :L

The container looks small but I'm not even sure if I'll ever hit the bottom of this container. :D Don't forget to use code J10X31 to get 10% off on your order. ;)

It looks like I'm having just a plain berry on my nails but there's still something going on my nails. :P
Flash
Let me know if you like framed nails and my combination. :) I'm really in love with them, I just need to practice how to make perfect framed nails with a creme nail polish. I already tried it once and it looked great but I choose a horrible color combination. :D And I only did my left hand, because I'm not really sure if I'm able to hold the striping brush in my left hand and make some perfect lines. ^_^

Have a lovely week and thanks for reading!

Ivana :k

KandNail Stamping Plates CK-03 & CK-04 Review

Weeks ago I got two image plates from Born Pretty Store. I was so excited these. I got 2 KandNails stamping plates ~ CK-03 and CK-04.

When I got them, I saw lots of designs from Bundle Monster's first set and also few from Konad. Everything looks fine, just the patterns are really SMALL, lots of them are even smaller than on BM's 1st set. :/ Here's a comparison I did ~ Konad's vs. BM's 1st set. Some of the patterns are same on the both image plates. They came secured with a blue thin blue film.

Here's a comparison with BM-223 from BM's 2nd set, Konad m64 and an image plate I got from BPS m57,which is supposed to be Konad's dupe but the patterns are smaller, and KandNail CK-04.

So if you don't have really small nails, you'll have to stamp twice or even more to cover your whole nail. :)

Because I was lazy lately, I didn't have patience to stamp all my nails so many times, so I decided to try them out but as an accent nails. First pattern I used was a cheetah pattern from CK-03 over How About a Tumble with Wet n Wild - Black Créme. I had to stamp twice my ring finger and tree times my thumb to cover the whole nail. The pattern transfered to the stamper really great so I didn't have any problems with this plate.
Sun

Ring finger and Thumb: CK-03 & Wet n Wild - Black Créme
Beauty Secrets TC Fast Finish Polish Dr

Last time I decided to try more patterns so I stamped an old manicure, which I still need to show you. All the patterns are from CK-03. Where I stamped the whole nail, I had to stamp twice. I stamped my ring and index finger once, creating some kind of french tip.

Nail Tek - Foundation 2
Depend - #34 / 2 coats
CK-03 & Wet n Wild - Black Créme
Nail Tek - Intensive Therapy 2

The reason I only used CK-03 is that I had some problems with CK-04. Almost all patterns I tried didn't transfer to the stamper well or at all. I think this plate I got isn't well engraved, because I saw a review of this plate where all patterns transferred really great.

I still think these are great plates for accent nails, french tips or someone with really small nails or someone who wants to experiment with stamping. My nails aren't so small, so stamping twice or even more is really time consuming for me, because it's much easier to stamp only once and you're done very fast. You get 42 patterns on each plate and they're not expensive ($8.53), so this is quite a nice deal. If you're having troubles with transferring the patterns, I'd suggest you to contact BPS and let them know about that and maybe you'll get a replacement.

I hope someone will find this review helpful! :$
Do you own any of these KandNail stamping plates? What do you think about them? Are you patient enough to stamp twice or even more? :D

Don't forget to use code J10X31 to get 10% off on your order. ;)

Thanks for reading dear readers and followers and have a lovely day!

Xoxo,
Ivana :k

Neon French Cheetah Print

Months ago I was contacted by KKCenterHk and they offered me to pick one of their stamping plates. Because I'm not really a fan of plates with tiny images on, I decided to go with french manicure plate - B57. I have no idea what was I thinking when I chose it because you all know I'm having nubs most of the time, so I waited and waited and when I found out my nails won't be long anytime soon I decided to try it out on my longer shorties. :D

Image plate came in a little plastic bag and it's protected with a very thin clear film, which is really hard to notice at first but keep sliding your finger at the end (but carefully because you can easily cut yourself) and the film will start lifting.

B57 has 6 patterns for french manicure...

I decided to go with cheetah print and diagonal french tips, because my tips weren't long enough and it would look weird if I would stamp it horizontally. :D I must say I'm not happy with this color combination but here it is. :D
Sun
The only reason I had neon polish on my nails was to check if Pool Party really looks better over white. :D I already had white nails from my last manicure, so I removed an accent nails and applied Pool Party without a white base to see the difference. It was obvious in person but I failed again with taking color accurate pictures of this neon. :D So Pool Party looks way to orange on this pictures, I think my phone just aren't smart enough to capture the real color. :P

I stamped the cheetah print from the image plate in diagonal way. The patterns came off really great so I had no problems with transfering the image from plate to stamper to nails. :)

What do you think? I really love diagonal tips, because I'm not really a fan of classic french manicures so I will definitely try another color combo soon. :D Would you wear a neon with cheetah tips?

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day!

Max Factor False Lash Effect WP

No I'm not turning into make up blog, because my make up skills aren't really good enough to show them, but I wanted to share my fave mascara that I've been using more than 2 years now. Did I ever tell you I had an obsession with mascaras years ago? Well, I bought every single mascara they released in hopes to make my lashes longer. :D But of course all their commercials look fab because all the models wear false lashes. Where's the point? xo I tried lots of them but I think I found the one for me that makes my lashes as I want them to be.

All I want from mascara is lenght, because I adore loooong eyelashes. I'm not born with them so I need something to make them longer.
Max Factor - False Lash Effect Waterproof Mascara
Max Factor False Lash Effect mascaras have a really big plastic brush and I love those. I fell in love with plastic brushes when I tried their Masterpiece Mascara (I still remember that Geisha commercial :D). But the main problem about Masterpiece and Masterpiece Max is the amount of mascara you get for quite high price (Masterpiece contains only 4,5 ml and Masterpiece Max 7,2 ml = both cost around 12€). That's the only reason I don't buy them often... So when they released False Lash Effect I had to have it!

It really has a big plastic brush with very short bristles so you have to be very careful with application. Especially applying mascara on the bottom lashes but when you get used to it, you'll do it like a pro. :)

Because I don't want this long post to show on the first page of blog, please click more to see the rest of the post. :)

Dots, Heart, Stripes & Cupcake Nail Art

Today I'm showing you another 2 products I got from Born Pretty Store - 15pc Nail Art Design Brush Set and Silver Stripping tape. I didn't have any ideas how to try them out so after a while I decided to do skittles manicure with different patterns so I could try different brushes and tape out.

Here's what I came up with. :$

Nail Tek - Foundation 2
Thumb: OPI - Sparrow me the Drama / 2 coats + White Acrylic Paint &amp + Star Fimo Slice; Longer Liner Brush
Index: Ciaté - Fun Fair / 2 coats + Farmasi - 031 + Sparrow me the Drama + Essence - Stamp me! White + Pink 3D Steel Ball Glitter + Pink Rhinestone & Smaller Painting Brush & Longer Liner Brush & Dotting Tool / Cupcake inspired by Simply Rins
Middle Finger: Essie - Splash of Grenadine / 2 coats + Essence - Very Berry + Farmasi - 031 + OPI - Sparrow me the Drama & Silver Stripping Tape
Ring Finger: Essence - Very Berry + White Acrylic Paint + Farmasi - 031 & & Smaller Drawing BrushThe Smallest Painting Brush & Dotting Tool/ Cartoon Heart inspired by Nailside
Pinkie: Farmasi - 031 / 2 coats + Essence - Stamp me! White & Dotting Tool
Beauty Secrets TC Fast Finish Polish Dryer

Unfortunately I didn't include my thumb in picture and it was already late to take another one. But I made vertical stripes with liner brush and added pink star fimo slice. :)

Brush set contains 15 brushes and you get: 3 drawing brushes, 7 painting brushes, 2 liners, 2 fan brushes and 1 dotting tool (see the picture below). As you can see I didn't try them all but just some of them and all I can say is that these brushes are really great for nail art. My freehand skills aren't phenomenal but sometimes I really want to try something out especially when I spot great tutorials, for example Jane's Cartoon Heart or Rina's Cupcakes. <3 One of the drawing brush had wonky bristles so I cut them out and it was ready to use. All brushes have long handles and because I already have one with short handle I prefer that one over these, long handles make it harder to hold and paint details, but that's maybe just me. :) You get 15 brushes for less than a $5 - great deal if you're asking me. :D

I'll probably use drawing brushes and the smallest painting brush most of the times, but other painting brushes are also great for clean up. :) I know I can't leave without clean up brush and every time I loose it in my room, I'm going crazy but now I have lots of them. :) Those with more nail art skills would probably use all of them but I'm still not there. :P

I also got Silver Stripping tape. I used it on my ring finger. First I applied base color and when it was fully dried, I taped regular tape for a bottom line and then 2 pieces of stripping tape above. Stripping tape is self-adhesive so it stays on surface perfectly. Than I carefully painted rows between tape with different colors and removed the tape so I got 3 rows with different color. I could leave it like that, because I got a lovely tape manicure but I decided to add tape again for lovely detail. I added a coat of TC to seal it on the nail. :) You get one roll of tape and I think I'll have it for quite a long time. I'd suggest you that you keep it in that little plastic bag, because it's quite sticky on the sides, that's why my roll is full of dust. :/

Don't forget to use code IRJ61 to get 10% off on your order. ;)

My fave is probably the cupcake and I can't wait to make it again, probably as an accent nail. <3 What do you think? Would you wear a manicure like this or is it too girly for you? :P

Thanks for reading. :rainbow

Essence TE Re-mix Your Style Swatches & Nail Wheel Review

Guess what just hit our stores??? :) Essence's Re-mix Your Style Trend Edition. <3 I've been waiting for this collection for ages and it's finally available in DM (hurry up, you can't miss all these pretties :) ).

I'm so broke without any money so my mom helped me get these. :h 6 base colors and 4 special top coats were released in this collection but I wanted just some of the topcoats.

I picked Dance, Love and Pop top coats, I left behind Rock TC because I'm not a fan of dark colors. :) I just got nail wheels from Born Pretty Store to review so I decided to show them on nail wheel but of course I can't wait to put my new beauties on nails.

Here're the polishes I used on nail wheel down below:

Wet n Wild - Black Créme
Essence Dance Top Coat - Waking up in Vegas
Essence Love Top Coat - Feels so good
Essence PopTop Coat - Just can't get enough

Here are all TCs layered over a Black Créme . :L

From Top to Bottom
Essence Pop Top Coat - Just can't get enough / 2 coats
Essence Love Top Coat - Feels so good / 1 coat
Essence Dance Top Coat - Waking up in Vegas / 2 coats
Wet n Wild - Black Créme / 1 coat

They look amazing layered over a black! Bottles look so boring but when you apply them over a color, they become gorgeous! <3

Just can't get enough (Pop) is a light pink base shimmer with holographic glitter. It's pretty amazing in person as on pictures and very opaque so I add 2 coats and like you can see, you can't even see a black under. I love this beautiful scattered shimmer inside, great job Essence, now you really made a holographic TC, I actually thought that this will be just another duochrome.... xD

Feels so Good (Love) is a very beautiful duochrome TC like those CND Sparkle effects. It changes the color depending on lightning, I only caught this beautiful lilac sparkle.

Waking up in Vegas (Dance) is probably the diamond of this collection. How can you miss a flakie top coat for such an awesome price? :o It's just perfect. It looks like Nubar - 2010 what I've seen from some comparison posts but if you ask me, Essence wins, just because of the low price. :)

Essence should put all of these top coats in their regular range with other special toppers because these are just amazing. :L Unfortunately when this TE will be sold out, you probably won't be able to find it anywhere so be sure you grab them when you find them. :/

Let me say just a few words about my new nail wheels. I wanted them forever and when I got another opportunity to review some things from Born Pretty Store I decided to give them a try. I got 10 pieces of Clear False Nail tips Art Display Practice Wheels.

They came in one piece because they packed them great, so no issues with broken nail wheels. I like that they're clear, idk why but they just look prettier than the white one. :)

Now I can't wait to paint them all. :D They're great, because you can see how the polish looks like when you apply it, you can paint all your nail polishes you have and see if you have any dupes, you can try to make a nail art first on them and after you see the result, you can make same manicure on your nails, etc... :) Every piece has 20 "nails", so you can try 200 combinations with this set but if you want more, you can order another set, they're not so expensive.
You can get 10 pieces for a nice price $6.15 and use code IRJ61 for 10% off on your order. :)

Do you use nail wheels? Why? For nail art, for keeping a track of your collection? What do you think about Re-mix collection? What are your favorites? Did you manage to get any of these? Can't wait to hear your responds!

I got another stamping plate from BPS but I can't find it. I've been loosing things in my room forever and it annoys me so much lately. :/ As soon as I find it, I'll try to make a manicure with! :)

Thanks for reading! :rainbow

Halloween Manicure & Review

Long time no see, right? :P Being busy and lazy are the reasons for being away for almost a whole week. :$ I didn't expect I'll do a manicure for Halloween because we don't celebrate Halloween like some of you, but it's becoming more and more popular.

I got a chance to test out another product from Born Pretty Store. I saw a lot of amazing manicures made with Acrylic Color, that's why I always wanted to try it out.

Here's what I came up with for Halloween, but please keep in mind that I'm not good with free hand designs and this manicure obviously isn't perfect like I'd want it to be. :D

Huh lots of information. xD I was trying to find same set I got from Born Pretty, but I can't find it right now, but I think this one looks pretty similar. I got 12 tubes of 9 ml Acrylic color, 2 palletes for mixing the colors and 2 thin nail art brushes.

I really like this set, because you really get all you need for painting your nails. Acrylic color is really easy to work with and very pigmented so you don't need to paint twice or even more for fully opaque designs. I mix them with water to get that smooth formula. All you need is steady hand and lots of imagination for designs, just be creative! You get a whole set for around $10 but youcan also use code IRJ61 for 10% off on your order. ;)

So, what do you think? I was so proud when I got so many compliments for this manicure. :D Will you make a special manicure just for Halloween?

I wish you all an awesome weekend!

Xoxo,
Ivana :k
