OPI Mariah Carey Liquid Sand Mini Pack

Few days ago I got a cute package from a Slovenian online store. They surprised me with a mini pack of OPI Mariah Carey's liquid sand collection. I'm seeing this trend everywhere at the moment and I couldn't wait to test them out. Since I got a mini pack and didn't want to just swatch them, I decided to go with skittles. :P I added 2 coats of each and I was surprised with a gritty effect but I just love it! :L It truly looks like a sand on your nails, perfect! Which one is your fave?

V kolekciji Mariah Carey so štirje taki odtenki. Ker nimam 10 rok, kjer bi lahko preizkusila vse lake naenkrat, sem se odločila za skittlse in tako ubila 4 muhe na en mah. :P

Stay the Night - The impossible - Can't let go - Get your number

Thanks for reading!

I decided to dig out the foil from Essence I already tried once for this cute manicure, as an accent nail. :D

Just checkin' in...

... to say hi to all my old and new followers. :) My life is really busy atm so I'm not really able to blog as before + I have some major issues with my lap top. I still paint my nails all the time of course, but I'm sharing pictures mostly on Instagram - IvanaThinksPink if you would like to follow me there.

Anyway, my nails were pretty long but when I started with a job few weeks ago, I broke every possible piece of my nail so I'm stucked with nubs! They're peeling and so weak but I hope I'll get them back into last condition in a few weeks. I admire all of you who can have long nails and work with your hands a lot! :)

I'll share some pics from Instagram so you can see some of my manicures... :P

Orly - Beach Cruiser
Orly - Beach Cruiser & Essence - Make it Golden

Orly - Flirty

p2 - Rich & Orly - Fowl Play
Essence - Fall for me & Deborah Lippmann - Glitter in the Air

Which one is your favorite? As you can see, I'm still a big fan of pink! :P :L

Another tutorial I wanted to make was Chanel Inspired nails I did a while ago. I decided to go with same colors as before, because I loved it and now I'm loving it even more, because my nails are longer now. :i

Video Tutorial: Harlequin Hardware Manicure

Since I got so many lovely comments on this manicure I showed you here and I didn't really know if I should continue with tutorials or not, I decided to try it again. Same steps like the first time, I just changed a pink polish I used before.

Harlequin Hardware Manicure :L :

Essence Nail Art - Protecting Base Coat
OPI - Sweet Heart / 2 coats
Sponging: OPI - Sweet Heart & Catrice - Princess for a Day
Essence - High Shine Top coat
Funky french: China Glaze - 2030 & Stripping Tape
Essie - Good to Go

You can also stop when you're done with sponging, I love how this kind of gradient looks like. :)

Let me know if you like the tutorial. :$

I'll keep it short and simple for today, thanks for reading! :h

Inspired by: Harlequin Hardware Manicure

Did you ever heard for Harlequin Hardware manicure? Well I haven't but I saw pictures on Tumblr all the time. :D Here's a picture...
http://makeupforlife.net
“Harlequin Hardware” manicures created by CND‘s Candice Manacchio at the Diego Binetti show. To create these gorgeous looks, Candice stained models' nails in CND Colour in Raspberry Parfait and Frosting Cream before capping them in gold and silver metal.
The gradient looks so perfect and airbrushed on pictures and I already knew I won't get same smooth effect but I really wanted to try it out. :D Tips are probably mirror gold stickers, as you can see on her pinkie it started lifting. :i

It looks much better from far away as on macro photos. :i

First I started with 2 coats of OPI Sweet Heart. Then I applied Sweet Heart and Hot or Not? on sponge and started sponging pink near the cuticles and blending pink with the lighter color. It's even messier than a normal gradient, because you need to be careful not to get pink in the middle of nails. I literally had pink fingers all around cuticles. :) Then I add just Sweet Heart on sponge and tapped it in the middle of nails in case there were pink spots. I added coat of top coat and left it for a day. Yesterday I made gold french tips with China Glaze 2030 and stripping tape and finished everything with another coat of top coat.

Without Golden Tips
I got so many compliments and lots of them were wondering if my nails are fake or how I did them. :)

Yup, gradient effect is grainy if you look closer but I don't care, it's still pretty. ^_^
This technique is a bit messy and time-consuming but when you're done, you have a pretty awesome manicure going on your nails. :L

Btw, follow me on instagram @ivanathinkspink, I joined a few days ago . :)

What do you think? Would you wear it? :i Thanks for reading! :h

Inspired by: Chanel Fall 2012 Couture Nails

Few days ago I was spending my time on Tumblr checking nail art pictures, when I spotted this gorgeous manicure. Of course I googled more for details and after seeing more detailed pictures, I knew I had to try it myself. The manicure I'm talking about was done by Chanel and here's a picture.

http://www.vogue.co.uk
For the autumn/winter 2012-13 couture show, nails were painted in a limited-edition Silver shade from 2007, before spring 2012's May was applied in an oval shape.
Two colors that were used on Chanel Haute Couture Fall 2012 runway were Silver (2007, discontinued) and May (Spring 2012).

I don't own any of those, well I actually don't have any Chanel's nail polishes, because they're too expensive, so I decided to make something similar. :i

Two colors I decided to use were China Glaze Cheers to You and OPI Sparrow me the Drama. This is some kind of ruffian manicure but a lot easier version, because there is more free edge on sides of nails and with a flat brush like OPI has, you're done in 3 brush strokes. :)

I made lines even cleaner with brush soaked in remover. I gently removed the pink where needed without ruining the silver foil underneath, because foils really stick on nails. Of course you can always apply top coat over silver and before pink. to be really sure you won't ruin the base color with brush and remover.

OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener
China Glaze - Cheers to You / 2 coats
Beauty Secrets TC Fast Finish Polish Dryer

I'm very excited to post this manicure today and I hope you'll like it too. :i I did my best to show you my both hands, but nothing can't compare to the original though... So, all you need is a metallic or foil silver and bubblegum pink and you can rock these as models did. ^_^

Let me know what do you think about Chanel's nails, would you wear them? :) Thanks for reading! :h

Original Signature

I'm too lazy to change my manicure often so I try different layering or stamping. The weather is just perfect to dig out some holos. :L

Both, Original & Signature are unfortunately discontinued and HTF, so I don't use them much. Both are a bit sheer so they're perfect for layering. <3 I layered them over my last two colored manicure I showed you here. :D.

Triangle Half Moon Manicure

I've been wanting to do this triangle half moon manicure for ages, but I'm not really good with tape. Well, I'm just impatient to wait my base color to be 100% dry so I always failed. But the other day I challenged myself and decided to do it. :)

I started with 2 coats of Sparrow me the Drama (OPI) and for an accent nail I decided to add Divine Swine from the Muppets collex. :L

For triangle half moons I used stripping tape - I simply made a triangle with a tape and filled the triangle with the matching glitter Divine Swine. I had some problems with removing tape, because I had to wait the coats of glitter to dry a bit before applying another one but the tiny mistakes aren't so obvious in person. :)
Daylight

Triangle Half Moons: Stripping Tape + OPI - Divine Swine / 3 coats

I must say I'm loving this kind of half moon manicure even more than standard original half moon! It looks so edgy! :L Which one do you prefer more? Do you like my combo? :)

Have a lovely Sunday dear readers and followers and thanks for reading! :rainbow

Candy Water Marble

It's such a grey rainy lazy day today and because I really didn't know what to do with myself, I decided to try water marbling. I used to do more of them in the past and I can't believe I didn't try any since I started this blog. :D So here's my first water marble featured on this blog...

I used some of the colors from my favorite China Glaze collection Up & Away and the final results reminds me of candies. :) It's absolutely not perfect but I'm happy with the final result...

Daylight

Base:
OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener
Water Marble:
China Glaze - Heli-Yum

I'd definitely try water marbling more often, because it really looks cute but I'm too lazy for that. :D What do you think about my manicure? Do you practice water marbling often?

If you want to see tons of amazing tutorials, check Colette and her blog My Simple Little Pleasures and her YouTube channel, because she's definitely a water marble queen. :)

Have a lovely day and thanks for reading! :)

Swap with Carolina from Colores de Carol #4

I didn't get any great packages for some time now and when I woke up and see I just got one, I was so super excited. This is my fourth package from Carolina who runs a blog Colores de Carol. I'm sure you already know her, because she's just amazing. :L She can rock any color on this planet and spice it even more with any pattern. :L Beautiful photos, nails, manicures... Check her out! :)

She helped me get lots of goodies from my WL and thank you Carolina for that! <3
 China Glaze
Orly
Artificial Sweetener
Prelude to a Kiss

Carolina helped me get one of my biggest lemmings I had! Did you guess? Yes, How about a Tumble from China Glaze's Kaleidoscope collection. After I got Tickle my Triangle from Kvacka, all I wanted was just How about a tumble. Now I got it, I'll stop desperately looking for rest of them. Better 2 than nothing. :) I also wanted Aquadelic from Electropop's collection, because I saw a really great manicure somewhere with Dance Baby together (which I'm still waiting) so I had to have it. :L

OPI Nail Envy
Sinful Colors
Daredevil
Cinderella
Claire's
Candy Shop
Trio

I'm so excited to try out Nail Envy from OPI. I already blogged about peelies on my nails and I think that Nail Tek doesn't help me anymore as it did last year so I was eyeing Nail Envy. It's a mini so great to try out first. :) Carolina also told me I need Cinderella so she send me one and I must say I'm so happy she did. Can't wait to wear it! And of course, Candy Shop! :L I immediately fell in love with the DL's but when I spotted the cheaper version, I wanted it.

Carolina also sent me 2 Konad's Image plates, m63 & m71 and I can't wait to play with them! Chocolate, cuticle pen, Viva la Nails water decals, lovely necklace, sweets,... :)

Thank you Carolina for sending me all these goodies, you're the sweetest! <3

What would you like to see next?
It's the worst thing not knowing what to put on nails. I started doing 3 manicures the other day but I didn't feel the colors I picked, so I went naked - again. It drives me crazy when I'm not feeling the color I wear, especially with so many colors to choose from. :D

Have a lovely week and thanks for reading! :)

Step by Step: Pink Leopard Manicure

I'm so in animal prints lately, can you tell? :D So here's another one... But unfortunately I love this manicure in person more as on this pictures. Some of them I took 3 days ago when the weather was so grey and rainy so they aren't the best. And everything looks so better in person. :(

Anyway another step by step, easy as always but I took some pictures in between and I want to post them all together. Another layering and stamping... Here's the final result. :)

But it's much prettier in person, because that holographic glitter doesn't show up at all. :( More after a click.:)

OPI - Pedal faster Suzi!

Let's continue with another beautiful polish from OPI's Holland collection. :e

Pedal faster Suzi! is a light pink with lavender undertones nail polish, packed with silver tiny shimmer. After first coat it was still sheer. My mom would definitely wear it with one coat only, because she just loves sheer shimmers. :D But of course I wanted an opaque look so I added 3 thin coats, even 2 thick would work (maybe the nail nail would be still slightly visible). Application is flawless, it dries fast and it looks gorgeous - subtle but special. <3

It's definitely more cool toned pink but it always show up too warm on pictures. :/ I hate when I can't capture the real color. :D Well, I did my best...

Daylight
Sun
OPI - Pedal Faster Suzi! / 3 coats

It looks so soft but the shimmer just pops out and makes it even more special! It's also great for those who're not allowed to wear bright or dark colors at work! :)

Well I must say I love it! <3 It's a perfect base for stamping too, I might stamp something over, we'll see. :) What do you think about Pedal faster Suzi!? Do you like soft pink like this? Did you get it?

Have a lovely day dear readers and followers and thanks for reading!

OPI - Kiss me on my Tulips

OPI's Holland collection is probably the first one this year that made me sooo excited. I still didn't get my picks from Holland but my sis' Veri did a swap with Canadian Nail Fanatic and she got a few of them, so she kindly borrowed them to me so I can already try them out. <3 She was so excited when she got her package and this was her first swap she made, so we both want to say thank you mrsrexy. :)

First one that I decided to try out is Kiss me on my Tulips (I love this name :D ). This one or Nicole by OPI All Kendall-ed Up - they're dupes (you can see a comparison here), is a must have for all pink nail polish lovers as me. :$

It has really great formula, you probably can get away with only one thick coat but I decided to add 2 thin layers. It's a hot pink creme, that just stole my heart as soon as I put it on my nails. :L

The color is a bit hard to catch on photo, especially on sun, but let's say it's much prettier in person. :i

Last photo was taken today and I already have this polish on for 3 days. :L I wanted to stamp something over it but it's so pretty color I didn't want to add anything to ruin it. I think it goes perfectly with my skin tone and I already know I'll wear it more often. :L I still need to check if I'm having any close dupes in my stash. If not, I'll probably need a back up. :)

What do you think? Is this your type of pink? Which one did you get from Holland collex? :)

I can't believe it's already April. :o And it's Fools' Day today. Did you manage to fool anyone? I didn't, I'm really not having a good day today, so let me know if anything funny happened to you today. :)

OPI DS Temptation

Temptation is part of OPI's Designer Series, which was released with DS Bold I think. I didn't want Bold, because I have Mrs. Claus (China Glaze) which is supposed to be its dupe, but I wanted this badly. :i I got this polish from Iris and I'm so happy she found it for me. <3 There's a lot of going on in this polish: navy dark sheer base with lots of blurple, purple and silver glitter.

When you check google photos of this beauty, you'll find lots of color inaccurate pictures, probably because this blurple is so hard to catch. I have so many photos where Temptation looks way to blue as in real. :/ You should definitely see this polish in person, so you'll know what I'm talking about. :D

Glitter in Temptation is very dense so 2 coats were enough. :) I wish it lasted longer, but next day after long shopping my nails were chipped. :/ I still didn't find a way to wear glitters longer, because usually the whole nail come off. :/ Maybe I should layer it over similar creme color so the glitter could have something under to stick better? Any tips?

Swap with Nail Loopy

Another swap for today... I got this package a week ago from Nail Loopy. :) I'm really not in the mood to talk a lot today so let's start with pictures. :$

China Glaze - Shocking Pink (Neon)
American Apparel - L'Esprit
Models Own - Pinky Brown

I was very dissapointed with Pool Party, because it was way to orange on my nails. I know I have to try it over white, but I prefer having a true neon pink on my hands that's why I wanted Shocking Pink. :) I also got my first American Apparel and Models Own. I was quite surprised how tiny the bottle of AA is, I always thought they're bigger. :D

Orly - Lola
a decant of OPI - Pink Me I'm Good
Markwins International Nail Polish??
Rimmel - Blue my Mind

Blue my mind is a dark blurple in person, I can already see how unfotogenic this polish is. :D

Thank you Nail Loopy for getting me these goodies and I hope you enjoy your goodies too. :e

Thanks for reading and have a lovely end of the week. :k

Flakie Jelly Sandwich

Yap, after glitter sandwich I had to try flakie jelly sandwich. ^_^

I saw that Deborah Lippmann released a new gorgeous polish named Sweet Dreams. You can see gorgeous swatches at The PolishAholic. <3 It's a pink jelly full of gold flakies and of course I would love to have it but first I need to save some money to get this beauty. :i In the meanwhile, I made my own version. I didn't come up with a dupe, but it's close enough for me.

I started with a coat of OPI's Too Hot Pink to Hold 'Em from Texas collection. I just love all jellies I have from this collex. :L Then I added a coat of Essence - Waking Up in Vegas, another coat of OPI, another coat of flakies and finished it with the last layer of pink jelly. Lots of coats but it's so worth it. :) I also added a coat of TC for fast drying and glossy shine. :L

Flakies aren't super visible on sun but you can still spot some orange reflection. :) Nail line isn't visible as much as it shows on pictures, it's still there but I don't mind it, because I just love jelly finish. It looks like I'm wearing candies on my nails. :D
