Connect the dots with Shocking pink

Hot Monday and I'm ready to post something here. :)

The biggest problem I have now is that I'm wearing just simple manicures all the times - mostly neon pink on my nails. I didn't stamp my nails for ages, only layering here and then.

Few weeks ago I spent a week at aunt's place in Croatia. I was bored so I decided  to try a combo I had in my head for ages. Shocking Pink by China Glaze topped with black and white glitter Connect the dots from Lynnderella. I was absolutely happy with the final result. Enough talking, here are the pics. :i

Lately I'm sporting nubs all the time since I can't grow them out. They're weak and they're peeling all the time so I'm rather having nubs at the moment.

Essence - Protecting Base coat
Lynnderella - Connect the Dots / 1 coat
Essence - Better than gel nails Top Sealer Fast Dry

My pics aren't best because neons are really hard to capture on photos but at least I tried. :$

What do you think?

NOTW 3 ~ Gold Glitter Gradient

Jeeez, times fly by way too fast as I would want to. :( Missed me? :$

Quick manicure for today just to say hi! :)

You can't go wrong with a perfect blue like Pacific Blue from Sally Hansen is. :L Just to make it a bit more fun, I added some gold glitter and to match it a bit better, I added some blue glequins from Born Pretty Store.

Nail Tek - Foundation II
Sally Hansen - Pacific Blue / 2 coats
Sponging: Essence - Make it Golden
Blue Glequins
Essence Better than gel nails Top Sealer

Totally color inaccurate photo but I love how it looks like. :L

I got a pack of glequins from Born Pretty Store. 12 little containers with 12 different colors - I think I have a supply for life. :D The glequins I decided to add...

NOTW #2 ~ Purple Glitter Gradient and Foil

Here's another Nails of the week post. :i I wore this manicure for a whole week because I loved it. I don't know why but I'm in love with glitter gradients lately and yes, I'm wearing one at the moment too. :$ They're easy to make but they look so stunning.

I decided to dig out the foil from Essence I already tried once for this cute manicure, as an accent nail. :D
 Nail Tek - Foundation II
Color Club - Vintage Couture / 2 coats
Sponging: Orly - Bubbly Bombshell & OPI - Servin' up Sparkle

NOTW #1 ~ Glitter Half Moons

It's time for another post, right? :)

I've been still pretty busy but I'll try to update my blog more often. I feel quilty when I see a number of followers but at the same time I just love to be lazy when I can and do nothing. Seriously, I'm so lazy you can't even imagine. xD

This manicure I wore last week. Simple but elegant! I used loose glitter for half moons I got from BPS, which I used for framed nails. Pretty simple to make one, all you need is patience to place the glitters.

Nail Tek Foundation II
Essence - Rosewood Hood / 2 coats
Essence Better than gel nails Top Sealer

I think I even find the perfect nude for my skintone. It's from Wild Craft LE I randomly picked, but I absolutely love how it looks on my nails!

Beach Cruiser Make it Golden for 2O13

2O13 is here, can you believe that? :o I can't, time flies by way to fast as I'd want to. I had b-day on 28th December and I'm 24 now. Not that I feel old but...

...and that's who I am.
But what can we do. :i At least I got some pretty awesome gifts. :party

I didn't have to think twice what to wear for B-day. :L It was all about neon pink this year and I really started to love gold lately so here is a winning combination I'm still wearing. :)

...and that's who I am.
Hope you are too! Healthy, happy and full of love 2O13! :h

Cute phone cases, studs and glitter from BPS

So I have been so uninspired lately and I'm not really wearing anything special on my nails. I got some goodies from Born Pretty Store for review and this will probably be the lamest review but here we go. :i

There was a misunderstanding and I got wrong phone cases I wanted to try out. I got 2 cute Iphone 4/4s cases which obviously don't fit on my Samsung Galaxy S3. I was a bit sad because I was excited about these but okay I'm getting the right ones next time and I already found a new home for them, just need to ship them out.

I really like the bow case because it's so cute and I loove cute stuff! :i Dots looks cute too and both phone cases feel really sturdy.

Then I got some studs. Studs are really everywhere so if you want to be in trend, be sure you check their studs. I got rounded gold studs, maybe a bit too big for my taste but what I really love about them that they are pretty flat and I love flat stuff for nails. Here I took a picture of the neon pink ones I already showed you here so you can see that these are bigger.

I was lacking of inspiration so I just made an accent nail with them...Pretty boring I know! :D
Gradient: Essence - Very Berry & Essence - Meet me now

Last but not least I got the loose deltoid shaped glitter in iridescent pink which I used on my Halloween manicure. It looks pink in the pot but over black became orange to green but I'll have to use it over different colors. I applied a coat of black polish and put my nail into the pot so the glitter has stuck on my nail. Applied a layer of top coat to get a smooth surface and that's it!

Close up, full mani here.

I'm sorry for this really bad review. :$ I know you can't really help yourself but I would recommend the studs and the cases, not really a fan of this deltoid shaped glitter, because it's pretty small so you can't really place them on one by one, I'm just too lazy for that. :-D I'm more a hexagonal glitter fan in every possible color, yes please!!!!

Don't forget to use code J10X31 to get 10% off on your order. ;)

Oh and thanks for all the votes for my Halloween manicure I posted in my last post. I didn't make it to the top 13 but I was happy to at least try!  :D Now please help me bring my inspiration back and tell me what would you love to see here. :)

Bloody Manicure for Halloween

It feels like I didn't update my blog for ageees but I just didn't have time or inspiraton so I took a break. Of course I was painting my nails and if you follow me on Instagram - ivanathinkspink - you already saw all the manicures I'll post in the near future.

Bundle Monster is having a Halloween contest and I really wanted to join but the final outcome wasn't so awesome as I thought it will be. I didn't have time to recreate it so today I submitted my entry. Here it is... Idea on my ring finger was something I was expecting to be much better as it is... I wanted to look like I have a zipper on my nail and it's all bloody when you open it. :D

"Blood" and stitches were made with PS. I just had to play with photo a bit more to make it more interesting. :D
Pinkie: Gradient with Essence - Back to the 50s & Manhattan - 1010n
Ring finger: Essence Cafe Olé, BM-202, Essence - Back to the 50s and BPS black stamping polish

Swap with Morgan from Lacquer Land & Flash Dance

I've been lazy so much these days so I even wore my last manicure for more than a week. :e
I got this amazing package from Morgan at Lacquer Land few weeks ago and I already wore some of the things she sent me. But yesterday I decided to wear a beautiful gem that I wasn't even expected it'll be waiting for me in her package. :L

Flash Dance is part of Nordstrom's exclusive so I'm not really sure how widely available it is. It looks gorgeous in the bottle but even more on nails. :L Magenta base with tiny purple and bigger pink round glitter, sounds amazing, right?

I applied 2 easy coats for full opacity and a coat of topcoat to get this super shiny look. I think I should add another layer because it's still gritty. From the lightning depends how pink or purple this polish look.

Essence Nail Art - Protecting Base Coat
Deborah Lippmann - Flash Dance / 2 coats
Beauty Secrets TC Fast Finish Polish Dryer
 Here's a picture of all goodies I got from Morgan :h :
China Glaze - Prism, Love's a Beach
Orly - Beach Cruiser
Deborah Lippmann - Flash Dance
Butter London - Queen Vic

I wanted to try Baby Lips and Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm stains for ages! Funny how she sent them to me. :) You need both of them, definitely must have lip products! And she also sent me my first Butter London polish! :e

Thank you so much for your generosity Morgan, I really didn't expect so much so now I really hope you'll like your package and goodies inside. ^_^

Do you like Flash Dance? Don't forget to check Lacquer Land and show some love! her blog is awesome andnshe keeps showing us some really awesome polishes. :)

Pink Glittery Leopard Print

My nails are in bad condition atm, so I'm not really into making something special, mostly I'm wearing just bright and neon pinks. :i That's why I'm not posting really often. Week ago I got another parcel with goodies for review purposes from Born Pretty Store and I decided to bring my nails to life. :D

Final result...
Daylight
I got BK Nail Polish in #8850 (that's the number from the bottle, on BPS page you can find it here under #08). It's pretty bubblegum pink with not really matte but more like satin finish. Brush is wide and flat, formula is superb and it dries fast.
Daylight
Essence Nail Art - Protecting Base Coat
BK Nail Polish - #8850 / 2 coats

Then I decided to use my new goodies I got from Canadian Nail Fanatic that I won in her giveaway - Cheeky Plates and China Glaze - Full Spectrum. <3 I also tested BPS Black Nail Art Stamping Polish. You get 3 ml of thick black polish, which works great with stamping. I think once you pick the pattern with stamper, you have to work fast or it can dry before you manage to transfer the pattern on the nail. Or maybe it's just me out of practice, because I lately rarely stamp my manicures. :i

Stamping: BPS Black Nail Art Stamping Polish  + Cheeky CH2

Gold Knockout Pout

My nails were naked for a whole week, because I wasn't really sure what to wear. But few days ago I finally decided. It was time for Essie's Knockout Pout. It's part of Essie's Summer 2010 collection.

Really lovely pink with peach undertones and it has a satin finish when it dries, so it's probably a neon? :) The formula is a bit thick, but you can easily get away with 2 or 3 coats. I'm not really a fan of Essie's brush, I prefer big flat brush over Essie's. It's a bit hard to capture on photo, but it's such a lovely shade in person - sometimes more peach and sometimes more pink. :)

Then I added a coat of Essence's Make it Golden on half on my nails and over also Milani Jewel FX - Gold. Make it Golden is going to be discontinued this fall, so be sure you'll grab it before that, I need a back-up of this gorgeous polish. :L

Framed Nails

Few days ago I got another awesome package from Born Pretty Store, so I had to try the goodies right away. :)

I'm really loving framed nails and I already did them once, you can see them here, where I used just plain black and holographic silver glitter. So now I decided to do them again but this time with gold glitter. This method is kind of time-consuming, but it definitely looks good. :)

The pictures aren't the best, because the weather here is nothing like June should be. xo

I got this cute container full of gold hexagonal holographic glitter (you can find it here, also available in different colors and shapes). It looks like a treasure when you open the container. :L To easily pick the glitter on toothpick, I drop some of the glitter into the lid.

I love this kind of glitter because it's flat and it doesn't bother me as much as rhinestones. So when you add a layer of top coat, the surface is almost smooth.

I started with 2 coats of China Glaze - Traffic Jam. I picked it because it has a really great formula and I already tried it with gold glitter and it looked gorgeous, so I decided to use it again. :L I did one nail at a time. When the second layer was still wet, I simply picked one by one glitter and placed it on the nail. If I was too slow and the surface was already dry, I added a top coat and made the surface wet and sticky again.
 OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener
China Glaze - Traffic Jam / 2 coats
Gold Holographic Hexagonal Glitter
Beauty Secrets TC Fast Finish Polish Dryer

They do start falling off eventually, I'd suggest you to add 2 coats of top coat to really seal them on the nails, but even when a few of them are missing, it doesn't bothering me, it still looks as great as before. Unless you're really trying to find where they're missing. xD

Here's a closer look of the glitter! <3 I told you it looks like a treasure! :L

The container looks small but I'm not even sure if I'll ever hit the bottom of this container. :D Don't forget to use code J10X31 to get 10% off on your order. ;)

It looks like I'm having just a plain berry on my nails but there's still something going on my nails. :P
Flash
Let me know if you like framed nails and my combination. :) I'm really in love with them, I just need to practice how to make perfect framed nails with a creme nail polish. I already tried it once and it looked great but I choose a horrible color combination. :D And I only did my left hand, because I'm not really sure if I'm able to hold the striping brush in my left hand and make some perfect lines. ^_^

Have a lovely week and thanks for reading!

Triangle Half Moon Manicure

I've been wanting to do this triangle half moon manicure for ages, but I'm not really good with tape. Well, I'm just impatient to wait my base color to be 100% dry so I always failed. But the other day I challenged myself and decided to do it. :)

I started with 2 coats of Sparrow me the Drama (OPI) and for an accent nail I decided to add Divine Swine from the Muppets collex. :L

For triangle half moons I used stripping tape - I simply made a triangle with a tape and filled the triangle with the matching glitter Divine Swine. I had some problems with removing tape, because I had to wait the coats of glitter to dry a bit before applying another one but the tiny mistakes aren't so obvious in person. :)

I must say I'm loving this kind of half moon manicure even more than standard original half moon! It looks so edgy! :L Which one do you prefer more? Do you like my combo? :)

Have a lovely Sunday dear readers and followers and thanks for reading! :rainbow

Circus Confetti with Gradient

This was just a random combo I did after 2 days of wearing this lovely gradient. My friend had this polish on her desk and when I was there, I painted my ring finger. I really loved how it looked with gradient, so when I got home, I made a full mani. :D
The polish I used was Circus Confetti from Essence. :L All those multi colored glitters scream fun when you look at the bottle. :e

Essence - Circus Confetti / 1 coat
I only have one picture of my manicure so I wanted to share my lovely boy with you. :D I was just playing with him on our balcony so I snap this picture of him! He's already a big boy, can you tell? :) Cats grow so fast! :/

Do you have any multicolored glitters? Which one is your favorite? Do you like it over gradient? :)

Have a lovely day!

I'll take you to the Candy Shop

Am I the only one who have 50 Cent's Candy Shop beat and music in my head when I see Candy Shop? Such an old song that brings me back to childhood when I thought he was singing about lollipops. :D

Anyway.... Candy Shop from Claire's is a good substitute for Deborah Lippmann's guess which one? Yes, Candy Shop. :D They're not dupes but they're really very very close. Here you can see a great comparison post at Sincerely Stephanie. :) Since I got this one, I really don't need the other one. :)

I expected much worse application but it went on like butter. I added 2 coats, glitter stayed flat but I still added a coat of top coat. There's still some VNL so I should maybe add another coat, but it wasn't so obvious in person.
Daylight

There's a lot of going on in this polish... Multicolored hexagonal glitter and round tiny glitter in a sheer jelly light pink base. :L I'll definitely wear it soon again, because it's sooo gorgeous! I removed it with a foil method, so no rubbing was needed. :)

My baby boy got neutered today. He's still a bit angry and ignoring me... :)

And when we came home... So sleepy and dizzy... Awwwwwww. :k
I'm so happy this is behind both of us, because I was so stressed out these days. He's already jumping and playing around. :)

Have a lovely weekend dear readers and thanks for reading!

Berry with Gold Glitter

I'm really into sponging lately. :e Sponge is such an easy tool to use but it gives really amazing results. :L

Traffic Jam is a part of China Glaze's Metro Fall 2011 collection. It's a berry creme with really great formula (if you're careful, you can easily get away with just one coat). It's not so pink as on the pictures below but it's really hard to capture with my phone.

I didn't want anything from that fall collection at first but when I saw this manicure from Elsa I just had to have it! :L I still need to try out that combo, but this time I decided to go with gold. I usually sponge the glitter on the tips of my nails, but this time I decided to sponge them on the base of the nails.
The gold glitter I used is Make it Golden from Essence. I just love everything about this polish - gold hexagonal glitter, tiny glitter and gold dust in clear base. <3 I already showed you in combination with nude or blue. :) I definitely need a back up!
